See you on Friday!
Hello my Dear Nail Art Lovers.
Tomorrow morning we are leaving for the San Francisco trip - gosh i am so super excited, this is going to be my first time in California. We going to spend where 4 romantic days full of all kind of exciting plans. So as of right now - bags are packed and nails are done.
I am going to post today nail that i have done for the trip, i hope that glitter top coat will help it last for 4 days, and neutral colors will not annoy me.

And here is a picture of my Wonderful and beautiful Kot Marshal - i guess your are so surprised on how big is he now :) He is wonderful, amazing, very loving Kot (Kot means cat in russian, but htis is how we call him around here) and i am goign to miss him so much. My friend is going to coame take care of the kot and dogs 2 times a day while we are gone, so special thanks to her :)
I hoped i can use this cool picture of Marshal as an excuse for not posting much lately.
When my Dad saw this picture he said that it must be called somehting like - "Mmmm... Those owners were delicious..." :D

Also please check out my post that i made earlier this year, with the manicure that i called San Francisco Nails :) I guess i was just inspired by the dream of cisitng Sanfran, and i am so happy that my dream is cumming true.

happy etsy-versary
To celebrate Percy Handmade's one year Etsy-versary, I have decided to have a birthday sale! All items in stock are now 10% off for a limited time only - discount will be provided through PayPal after checkout.

I can't believe how quickly the past year has flown by. I can't believe it was only 14 months ago that I decided to teach myself how to sew. I first met my beloved sewing machine, Percy, when I asked my wonderful boyfriend for a sewing machine at Christmas in 2008. I had absolutely no idea how to use it or what I was going to make with it but for some reason I just knew I had to sew. After all, I had been collecting fabrics and trims for several years but I never really knew what to do with them all.
As soon as I started playing with Percy, it totally consumed me. I was hooked. There were a few challenges early on (almost a few tears) and it was definitely a love/hate relationship for the first few weeks. I would often find myself in the early hours of the morning trying to figure out how to insert a bobbin, I had no idea where the light bulb was, I could never find the manual when I needed it, and it didn't help that I was frustrated with myself because I couldn't sew a straight line without breaking needles... I was a complete disaster! But it wasn't too long before I figured out some of the basic functions and within two months, Percy Handmade was born.
Thank you to all of my wonderful customers for your support over the past year. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you all and I look forward to the year head!
Perfect Pair
Hi, have a great Sunday everyone, last night I can't sleep... So I decided to do a research for my new layout and change my logo at the same time... It was already 1am when I fell asleep... And when I woke up this morning, I came up with a nail art design that will blend with my new theme, it's green and blue with a touch of brown and flower, here's the "Perfect Pair" NOTD that I made. I divided the two colors, green and blue posh nail polish, I chose m63 konad image plate because it looks like a tribal design similar to my background, and I added flower rhinestones on it....Hope you like it!!

changing seasons
I realised this morning that tomorrow is 1 March 2010, the first day of autumn for all of us down here in the southern hemisphere. I can't believe summer is almost over, I honestly have no idea where it went! But thinking of autumn and the cooler weather inspired me to work on my newest piece for my store. It's made from a number of different pieces including vintage lace, champagne chiffon, feathers, leather and pearls.
NEON, MIRRORS, 3D AND MORE!
I got this idea from Young Nails again! They are amazing! I am soooo glad I attended the Young Nails class I just wish they had one every week. These acrylic colors are from the Young Nails neon collection and I used polish to paint the tiger stripes!

I stole this idea from a very talented girl I met at a Young Nails art class. Thank you for the inspiration Krizia! I love your ideas!

This is 3d nail art that I created with acrylic. I put the 3d art right on the nail and then covered it with clear acrylic. The nail is smooth to the touch but you can still get the 3d effect. I have to admit I was proud of myself for doing these.

This is snakeskin print done on bright summer colors. I looooovvveee the snakeskin and this awesome client!

This is mirror confetti from Young Nails!

More sparkles nails!

This is some impression nail art. I love how vibrant these colors are!

I'm Working On It....
I finally tackled a ribbon necklace. Found a great printed tutorial on a newly-discovered website ~ www.ornamentea.com. I LoVe this website because they sell truly original charms and the just-right findings for me. Anyway, I'm following the tutorial they posted entitled "Frayed Ribbon Necklace" and it's in the baby stages until I can figure out exactly what charms and/or beads I want to use. Right now it looks like this:
Sorry the photos are less than stellar, but don't get me started on THAT......
The necklace is made with silk dupioni ribbon which looks nicely frayed as it wears. The tutorial used 12 beads, but I'm stumped after 2. I think I'll add some vintage-inspired charms instead of beads. I should have it finished by tomorrow and I'll post it for sure.
The only problem I had with making it is that I found it really hard to close the end bars which hold the ribbon. These are made of antique brass and I had a really hard time trying to get them totally closed around the ribbon. I used my chain nose pliers as they suggested but it didn't work so well for me....Any suggestions?
Time for a tivo'd "24" with the hubby. Ciao.

My Valentine's Day gift from Hubby has FINALLY arrived!!!
Yay! I just got my gift that I purchased on Ebay! A huge set that has 60 pieces of nail art decorations! I also got a couple of extra items to go along with the decorations. I purchased this set from Tamanala's Ebay store.
The set contains 5 different types of decorations with 12 colors of each one! It was a really great price even though I must say her shipping charges are high. When you add the shipping with the extremely low price you basically come out even but I still think it was a good price. The whole set came to about $25 including shipping. Decorations included in the set are glitter dust, steel mini beads, glitter strips, small round glitter and large hexagon glitter.

The other thing I got was a 20 piece set of eyeshadow mineral dust to add to my acrylic to make colored acrylics.

Well Ladies, hope you all enjoy the haul video I've made! And definitely watch out for some more tutorials and experiments! Thanks so much for all of your support and interest. Happy Friday and have an AWESOME weekend!!!

Charm Bracelet Diva's Word of the Week : Bezel
Yes, I pick weird words. And, well, yes, this post (technically) should be called Charm Bracelet Diva's Word of the MONTH ~ I know, I've not been keeping up with this weird jewelry jargon dictionary of sorts. Better late than never I always say.
SOooooooo, the word "bevel":
Etymology: Probably from dial. A form of French biseau bezel, from Middle French, date 1611. Merriam-Webster OnLine.
- According to WiseGEEK.com, a bezel setting is a method of securing a stone into a piece of jewelry. The bezel setting is probably the oldest setting for stones...it consists simply of a band of metal wrapped around the stone to hold it in place. Go to WiseGEEK.com for a more detailed history of the word and its place in jewelry's history.
Tonight I'm going to start a new type of necklace I've never done before and I'm thinking I might actually follow it in photos and do an actual....TUTORIAL! We'll see how confident I feel once it's done. Right now it's time to put the kiddos to bed. Ciao.

Area Rug Nails
I think this manicure reminds me of the red area rug :)
Anyway it was a really quick stamping , with a little bit of bling on it.
i hope you like it.
I recently broke to nails and had to cut it gain - i hate short nails, i am so ready for it to grow long back. I even seriousely considering to may be get a gel nails or something.
I think i screwed my real nail by putting acrylics on top ,now then acrylics is gone my nails are in the really bad shape, even that i wore acrylics for only 1,5 weeks.
